Gather ’round, crew. This is one of those posts where I share something only meant for my inner circle. Sharing this backstage, not on the public stage.
I’m noticing a pattern with my work and reactions to it: I upset a lot of people. Whether it’s Protestants responding to my video posts about true worship and the flaws of Sola Scriptura, secularists reacting to my moral exhortations and pro-Truth, pro-Catholic, or pro-Jesus messaging, or—more lately—Catholics taking issue with this video below, I seem to upset everybody.
It weighs on me, I’m not gonna lie. Resistance comes from every direction—comments, reactions, thumbs-down icons on every platform. Even on Substack Notes, the most civil of all the social networks, some Catholics hurl stones at me. It distressing and a little saddening, to be honest.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I’m going somewhere with this.
It’s a Mad World
I’ve become more and more aware of how far gone the world is, including many in the Catholic world. People are dug in, have chosen sides (often the wrong side), and they fiercely defend the gravest errors they hold and are near-impossible to dislodge from their errant positions.
